About James
Teaching music in Mickleover since 1985.
James Bull
Founder & Music Teacher · 28 Years Experience
Bull Music School has been part of the Mickleover community since 1985. James Bull became a pupil of the school himself, taking his Grade 1 in 1985. He went on to earn his Licentiate Diploma in Teaching in December 1997 and took over the running of the school in March 1998 — bringing with him a deep personal connection to the school and everything it stands for.
Now with 28 years of teaching experience, James teaches piano, electronic keyboard, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums, and alto saxophone. Whether you're a complete beginner picking up an instrument for the first time or someone looking to develop and refine existing skills, James tailors every lesson to the individual.
Lessons are available as private one-to-one sessions or in small groups, giving students the flexibility to choose the format that suits them best. James is passionate about making music accessible — beginners are always welcome, and no prior experience is needed to get started.
